Roz Savage

“I have learned to accept that, in the present moment at least, things are exactly as they are meant to be, and although I cannot control the future any more than I could control the wind and the weather, I can manage it and influence it in a positive way.”

10 Golden Rules of Successful Aging

I saw this list in a Martha Stewart magazine - with all of the lists and sound bites of what we have to do or take to live a longer life, it can get pretty overwhelming. What's good-for-you-one-day, isn't good-for-you-the-next-day, and the billion dollar industry from all the must-have vitamins and supplements ..... don't get me started!!

This list makes the most sense because it's all common sense!

1.  Eat well
2.  Maintain a healthy weight
3.  Stay physically active
4.  Get quality sleep
5.  Wear sunscreen
6.  Collaborate with a good primary-care doctor regularly
7.  Find your passion
8.  Connect with others
9.  Stop complaining - change what you can, and accept what you cannot
10. Stay curious

No, this is not the beginning of a new chapter in my life; this is the beginning of a new book! That first book is already closed, ended, and tossed into the seas; this new book is newly opened, has just begun! Look, it is the first page! And it is a beautiful one!

We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us

'Harold and Maude' quote

"A lot of people enjoy being dead. But they are not dead, really. They're just backing away from life. Reach out. Take a chance. Get hurt even. But play as well as you can. Go team, go! Give me an L. Give me an I. Give me a V. Give me an E. L-I-V-E. LIVE! Otherwise, you got nothing to talk about in the locker room."

Happy Thanksgiving

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.  -  John Fitzgerald Kennedy

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
