Today's the day - the Bead Soup Blog Parties third and final reveal! Even though I had months to prepare for this day, it snuck up on me!
I'll start by saying thank you to our fearless leader, Lori Anderson of Pretty Things! This party gets bigger and bigger by the second and she seems to handle it so effortlessly, always with a smile and a piece of pie.
My lovely partner, Jean Peter of Eclectic Avenue, sent me so many pretty beads that I thought (I will misquote Sally Field) 'she knows me, she really knows me'!! So many beads and all the colors I love!
I wanted to go with a Floral Fantasy theme and stuck to it except for two of the pieces. I also wanted to use up as many of the beads that Jean sent me, as I could - so I only added a few of my findings to the pieces.
First, I made a pair of earrings with Vintaj magnolia bead caps - I love turquoise and copper together.
The bracelets ..................................
I love the big purple "gumballs", so I started with that and just kept adding to make this bracelet. I added bead caps, a couple of green flower beads left over from my last bead soup and the clasp.
The next bracelet I made uses most of the purple beads, the flower charms and my own clasp.
The third bracelet, I used the gorgeous lampwork bead, the lovely blue and green beads, plus a few of my bead caps and a lobsta claw.
I love the colors in the lampwork bead
The necklaces .....................
In this necklace, I used the pretty flower pendant and one of the toggles Jean sent me. I used the green thread Jean sent me and pearl knotted the purple beads and used bits of ribbon in my soup - I added my own chain and oval rings.
The second necklace I call "Key to My Castle" because it has all the colors I use in my home - the walls are all shades of yellows, blues and greens, and I use many, many turquoise accents! I used my new Color Me This patina in turquoise on the key - I'll be using that color a lot!!
All of my pieces together ........................
I really enjoyed working on these pieces, but I still have many left-overs and will try to use them up soon!
Now that I'm done, I will, regretfully admit that I just started on my pieces on Wed because I couldn't even come up with half a design!! I (insanely) think I do better under pressure, but the 25th just snuck up on me - it's September next week - where did the summer go!!! I will never wait again - a full body massage sounds fantastic right now ........
Now, it's time to continue hopping - grab a cup of coffee or tea, sit back and enjoy all of the fabulous designers and their designs!!
